What information we collect when you visit our site

7Summits collects information about your Internet Service Provider, your operating system, browser type and/or domain name; The Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer (or other electronic Internet-enabled device); and Your access time(s).

This information helps us to understand which parts of the site are popular or need changing. We do not retain this information in a manner that is attributable to you as an individual and this means it is not your “personal data” (as described below).

Your full name; Your work contact details, e.g., company name, job title, address, postal code, country, telephone numbers and/or email address; Other company information, e.g., number of employees and industry sector; The reason for your contact; Information about services that interest you; Information necessary for legal compliance; and/or Where you “like” us or make posts on our pages on social networking websites.

We only collect personal data from you that is relevant for the purposes for which it is to be used.

This information will be collected primarily from you. Sometimes, where lawful to do so, we also collect personal information from (and combine it with data from) public sources, third party service providers, government, tax or law enforcement agencies, and other third parties. If you have not provided personal data directly to us, we will notify you prior to processing it.

Applying to work for 7Summits

If you apply for a role with 7Summits, we will provide you with a separate notice explaining the use of your personal information for the purpose of processing your job application. This information is available at the time you register your details on our third-party partner’s site. If we collect sensitive information from you during the recruitment process, we will seek your explicit consent to use it, disclose it to a third party or use it for a purpose other than those for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized.

How does 7Summits use your personal data?

We will only process personal data where we have a lawful reason for doing so. The lawful basis for processing personal data by 7Summits will be one of the following:

  • The processing is necessary for the performance of a contract you are party to or in order to take steps at your request prior to you entering into a contract
  • The processing is necessary in order for us to comply with our legal obligations (such as compliance with anti-money laundering legislation)
  • The processing is necessary for the pursuit of our legitimate business interests (including that of the delivery and the promotion of our services)
  • The processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

This means that we use information about you:

  • To respond to and process your request or inquiry;
  • To improve our services;
  • To administer the site;
  • For internal record keeping when necessary;
  • To contact you by email or phone for the above reasons;
  • Where necessary as part of any restructuring of 7Summits or sale of the company’s business or assets;
  • To perform management analysis, audit, forecasts, business planning and transactions, ensuring our compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements and 7Summits policies, and dealing with legal claims and related administrative activities and related records retention; and
  • 7Summits also converts personal data into anonymous data and uses it (on an aggregated statistical basis) for research and analysis. Aggregated personal information does not personally identify you or any other user of the site.
Does 7Summits share personal data with third parties?

Your personal data will be made available for the purposes listed in this policy (or as otherwise notified to you from time to time) on a need-to-know basis and only to management, human resources, accounting, legal, audit, compliance, information technology and other corporate staff who properly need to know these details for their functions within the company.

Use of data processors: Data processors are third parties who provide elements of our services for us, including technology providers that we use for our recruitment and marketing activities. We have contracts in place with our data processors. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will not share your personal information with any organization apart from us. They will hold it securely and retain it for the period we instruct.

If you register to receive updates from 7Summits, your data will be stored in our CRM and communication technologies, which are provided by the following third parties:

  • We use Salesforce for managing our sales (customer relationship management) and marketing (communications, campaigns and event management) activities.
  • We use Jazz for our recruitment activities.

Individuals within the European Economic Area (“EEA”) should be aware that recipients of their personal data may be located in countries or territories outside the EEA which may not have adequate data protection laws equivalent to those in the EEA. If you object to your data being transferred outside the EEA, please visit our Preference Center to revoke your consent or email contact7s@7summitsinc.com.

Where personal data is transferred to countries outside of the EEA and Switzerland, 7Summits will put in place other measures to ensure that those transfers are adequately protected (as required by applicable law). Individuals may also have their personal data transferred outside their own country.

Direct marketing

7Summits will provide you with information about our services, promotions, industry updates, events and offers, which may be of interest to you, and may invite you to take part in market research or request feedback. This communication will occur by email, SMS or telephone. We will obtain your consent where we are required to do so in accordance with applicable law. You can update your preferences here.

7Summits will ensure that any direct marketing or market research that you receive or are contacted about by electronic means will provide a simple means for you to refuse further marketing. For example, in emails it may provide you with an ‘unsubscribe’ link, or an email address to which you can send an opt-out request. 7Summits will take steps to stop any direct marketing to you to which you object or in respect of which you withdraw your consent within a reasonable period, in order to allow sufficient time for the change to be administered. In such cases 7Summits would not necessarily remove all your personal data from its database(s) but would note and respect your modified direct marketing preferences. What safeguards are in place to protect your personal data?

7Summits takes steps to protect the confidentiality and security of your personal data in accordance with applicable laws. As for all website operations, we cannot guarantee the security of any transmission of personal data over the Internet on a non-encrypted connection. Communications over the internet such as emails are not secure unless they have been encrypted. So, while we strive to protect such information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to us while in transit. Please do not submit personal data through the site unless you accept the security implications of doing so.

If you apply for roles at 7Summits, the recruitment platform uses encryption to transmit and store your personal data and the service providers comply, under contract, with international information security standards.

Disclosure of personal data

If requested and as governed by applicable law, we may disclose specific information upon lawful request by government authorities, law enforcement and regulatory authorities where required or permitted by law and for tax or other purposes. Personal data may also be released to external parties in response to a legal process, and when required to comply with laws, or to enforce our agreements, corporate policies and terms of use, or to protect the rights, property or safety of 7Summits, our employees, agents, customers and others, as well as to parties to whom you authorize 7Summits to release your personal data. In addition, we may disclose your personal data as necessary in the event that 7Summits restructures, assigns, sells or otherwise disposes of all or any of its business or assets.

Your rights

We take steps to ensure that data about you is reliable for its intended use, accurate, complete and current. In certain circumstances under applicable laws, such as the EU GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Request access to or a copy of your personal data. 7Summits will work to resolve Subject Access Requests within a calendar month of the request being received. Your data will be provided free of charge. For each additional copy provided, a reasonable administrative fee will apply;
  • Request for your personal data to be rectified;
  • Submit a request for us to cease processing your personal data;
  • Submit a request to permanently erase your personal data;
  • If you have manually inputted your data in web form, you can request a copy of your personal data in a portable-machine readable format.

Pardot cookies do not store personally identifiable information, but only a unique identifier.
