It’s hard to believe that after months of planning, the 2013 PR & Social Media Summit is over! 7Summits is proud to have been the title sponsor of this year’s event.

Opening keynote Paul Rand shared how word-of-mouth marketing influences business and tied his presentation to his new book, Highly Recommended. His message really resonated with the audience and the first 350 attendees received a copy. 

Sherpa Sally-Anne Kaminski kicked off the first breakout session of the day with client Stephanie Kneisler from Zebra Technologies. The collective noun for a group of zebras is a dazzle, and based on the Twitter feedback from the audience, ‘dazzling’ is an accurate description of the presentation. The focus was using social media to drive business; the two women did a great job summarizing the results of 7Summits’ three-month social listening engagement and explaining how the results led to the recommendations that Zebra is currently executing. Fellow Sherpas James Davidson and Rob Murray led a session about social business by walking the audience through case studies of work we’ve done for Milwaukee School of Engineering and SAP HANA. Not only did attendees gain some valuable insights, they sure got a kick out of James’ accent! You can find their presentation here.

Immediately after the social business breakout, Rob joined 7Summits client Andrew Mishalove from Groupon to present on bringing social inside your organization. Andrew walked the audience through Skynet. No, it’s not the latest saga in the Bond series… it’s Groupon’s intranet site!
