Position Overview

The position of Product Manager at 7Summits is expected to contribute to the overall success of the organization in a number of ways.  The primary accountabilities will be to work with Product Architects, Engineers, and Designers to take existing and new business/market opportunities from product concept to launch, effectively guiding the development processes and bringing the resulting 7Summits intellectual property to market.

Key responsibilities include defining key products, translating key attributes and features of envisioned products into guidance and user stories for technical teams, documenting and evangelizing new and existing products, and guiding teams to develop, deploy and maintain market viability of profitable and sustainable product offerings.  Elements include ideation management, identification of addressable market, product selection, product marketing, internal and external enablement, and management of comprehensive development activities. Management of development activities shall involve consideration of user experience, functional features, and operational requirements (development, testing, delivery, and sales/implementation support).  

Key Responsibilities

●      Product Management:

  • Story Management – Defines user stories, manages story acceptance criteria, accepts/rejects stories
  • Scrum Mastery – organizing and collaborating with development and design resources to facilitate the development of high-quality products that address applicable user stories
  • Ideation – managing the idea intake, review, and implementation process to identify new IP
  • Roadmap – Identification of new IP to be launched and existing IP to be enhanced 
  • Prioritization – Objective prioritization of products based on transparent factors
  • Releases – Identification of scheduled future releases 
  • Dashboard/Reporting – Presentation of roadmap to various audiences, including executive level
  • Tool/Application – Administration of 7Summits products through selected tool/app (Aha!)

●      Business Analysis

  • Working with individuals submitting ideas and requests to generate ideal approach/format
  • Ensuring business value and proper process design
  • Contributing to application design, where applicable

●      Product Marketing & Documentation

  • Internal – Documentation of new and enhanced products for delivery and sales teams at 7Summits (configuration and setup guides, presentation decks, tutorials)
  • External – Collaboration with marketing to produce relevant, compelling product literature (Web marketing collateral, product descriptions, blogs / thought leadership pieces)
  • Management and Distribution – Logical and useful organization of documentation and scalable distribution to internal and external audiences

●      Quality Management

  • Test Planning – Creation and management of regression test plan(s) for 7Summits products
  • Test Management – Leadership of regression test execution team, guiding the process to ensure thorough and effective testing

●      Other

  • Product Expertise – Serve as SME within the company for all 7Summits products; be able to explain their value, how they work, and how they can be configured.
  • Business Development – Contribute to the success of business development activities related to 7Summits Products, building awareness of 7Summits product features, differentiations and architecture.
  • Innovation and Domain Knowledge – Demonstrate strong social business and product business architecture knowledge, maintaining a solid understanding of the domain and the desired 7Summits business model, fostering product innovation and bringing our mission and brand promise to life
  • Best Practices – Helping develop / formalize internal best product management practices and methods.

Skills and Requirements

Basic skills and requirements needed to perform in this role are as follows:

  • 2+ years of software product ownership or management experience
  • 2+ years of some degree of administration / development / product management with a cloud-based CRM
  • Understanding of product management fundamentals, including product strategy, prioritization, and execution
  • Experience with product management tools, such as Aha!
  • Experience working on an Agile-based cross-functional team
  • 2+ years experience building or managing applications on the Salesforce platform (a plus)
  • Salesforce Platform App Builder and/or Platform Developer I certifications (a plus)
  • Additional certifications – Administrator, Marketing Cloud Consultant, Community Cloud Consultant, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant (a plus)
  • Experience delivering Portals/Communities on the Community Cloud platform (a plus)
